Known for more than just great duck and goose hunting, the forests of northwest Alberta are home to diverse Upland Gamebird populations. Ruffed, Spruce and Sharptailed Grouse are plentiful throughout the areas that we hunt for Moose and Bear. Hunted in forested areas generally means stalking a running bird rather than the traditional dog-assisted hunt, and as such are taken when they finally stick their head out from behind a tree as well as “on the wing”!

Upland Bird can be added to all Fall Hunts for Moose and Bear from September 1^st through November 30^th, or can be a dedicated hunt over a weekend or week. Shotguns from .410 – 20 ga. are ideally suited, with #6 to #8 shot.

 Limits vary, but generally 5 birds per day, per species, with possession of 15/species.
